MTI Racing at Daytona HSR 24 Hour Race "The little team that could"

MTI Racing   November Racing at Daytona International Speedway

24 Hours of Historic Sportscar Racing with MTI Racing

November 16th to November 17th, the MTI Racing Team with Dick Howe (Car Owner) and Reese Cox (MTI Owner) driving, came in first in our class, and third overall in our group at this 5th Annual 24 Hours of Daytona. Driving Dicks' 1989 Ford Saleen Mustang (aka "the Whistler") was exhilarating fun, and quite an accomplishment considering our competition. Most of the cars in our group were famous race cars from the past, and very, very expensive. Many of them were $2M plus, and one or two that were priceless. An example is the famous Holbert Racing Porsche #14 962 Lowenbrau race car that Al Holbert, Derek Bell, and Al Unser Jr. drove to victory in the 1986 season at the 24 Hours of Daytona.

Another famous competitor of ours was the famous Group #44 Jaguar XJR-7 driven by Chip Robinson and Hurley Haywood from 1985-1987. What a beautiful car.

So as you can see, our competition was tough, but the "Whistler" was strong, fast, and steady.  MTI Racing recently built the 800 HP Ford engine and spent lots of man hours preparing it for this 24 hour event. MTI worked up until the last minute on the car prior to loading for Daytona.

So if you want to have a strong car for your track day, or you want us to build a fast race car for you, this gives you an idea why MTI Racing can get you to the finish line at the head of the pack.
